Its nearly time for the new season to begin as all of the clubs are still trying to sign new players before the transfer window shuts. So is anyone going to dethrone Chelsea this year?

No is the answer to your question.

I wish I watched "football" as you call it over there and actually get into it.

Ha ha Ben I'm just hoping for a close season from Chelsea, City, Arsenal, Liverpool & United. Costa & falcao is a superb striker partnership and closest to that is Citys. Hopefully we buy at least 1 next striker and 2 if Hernandez is sold otherwise we cant do it just with Rooney. Liverpool should have Sturridge fit this Season but i believe Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham still need that 1 big striker to nudge them higher up this season.

It will be a lot more competitive in terms of the title race come next season. Chelsea/United/City/Arsenal all have strong sides with good depth and will be in the top 4 in my opinion.
We (Liverpool) will most likely be fighting for 5th spot with the current squad that we have. Selling Sterling for 49m gives us a good chance to buy a quality striker and thus giving us a greater chance at top 4.
LOL @ Valdes/Van Gaal war.

I wish the US gave a shit about soccer more than we do currently. It seems that only during the World Cup and sometimes during the Olympics this country gets behind our National teams and that's it. Makes it hard because of the lack of coverage here to get into it.

I was so into the Women's World Cup and nearly went hoarse cheering for the USA to defeat Japan (and we did!), but this is the kind of sport we could get into if we had better coverage.

Yup, 100% on that. If I had a nickel for every time I read "I Believe We Will Win" on Facebook during the World Cup I could retire now lol.

Nice to see there's a lot more interest from the MURICANS thanks to the Women's national team.
On to the Premier League. It's gonna take me a while to get used to seeing Schweinsteiger in a Man Utd shirt. He was one of my favourite players for Germany.

I think the NBC deal the US have at the moment has done a lot for the popularity of the Premier League over the last couple of years.
Chelsea wise - bit of a quiet window this summer, but I don't think we needed too many changes compared to everybody else.

Yep Chelsea where very solid last year so they only really needed to replace outgoing guys, which they have with Falcao & Begovic. Here's hoping Falcao plays a few more games than Drogba did last year. Stones would be a great signing as he could replace Terry who can't have many seasons left in him. Learning experience would be vital whilst he's still there. LKO You're Arsenal fan, ain't you? What do you think of rumours that their going for Benzema. I think he'll be perfect for them as his fast and personally, I've felt Arsenal have that works class striker since Henry and Persie (when he was fit.) I'm hoping Utd hurry up and sign Otamendi as he'll be a great addition to our defence and more likely signing than Ramos.

Yeah I'm an Arsenal fan. I personally don't believe the Benzema rumours because of how beloved he is by the Real staff. Would be class if we got him though. I'm hoping for a new face in midfield since Flamini is leaving to Galatasary.

i read rumours a while back that Vidal was close to signing but nothing seemed to be true. I wonder if Wenger will sign another big signing this year as last few seasons he's only really been buying 1 big name each season: Ozil then Sanchez and now Cech.
