I think it's time for people to be able to make a post on this place without feeling like it's a personal online diary for only us as individuals to see, so as the only active staff member, I'd like to make an effort as I have always done and get some feedback from everybody.
As we all know, with the advent of the WWE Network and outside of the die-hard collectors, DVD and Blu-Ray artwork has become even more of a niche than we all speculated and said it was 3 or 4 years ago. With that being said, I do still design covers for wrestling, though I mostly do video game artwork. I just love designing packaging and have since gone into it professionally (if metalife or Ben come across this thread, he will attest to that for me).
I think what really needs to happen is to rebrand; to move away from the niche we have created for ourselves and to not brand ourselves solely as "Wrestling Cover Forum". I know some may disagree with that, especially those who don't like change (which at this point is everybody who is no longer active here), but one thing WCF has always shown us is that we're all very talented artists, very avid wrestling fans whether it's past or present, and there is always room for discussion on topics such as art, wrestling, sport, gaming, and everything in between.
I'm going to break the fourth wall here, but I've checked the Admin CP (control panel) and, unfortunately, I don't have the ability as a Super Moderator to be able to change the member status of people here and make new staff members. Currently, it doesn't matter, but I would ideally like to build a new team around the future of this website and its potential rebranding (assuming it would be a possibility).
For anybody that comes across this thread (and I do log in twice or thrice a week), feel free to leave your thoughts and suggestions on what I've said. Do you think we would have a more prosperous future by rebranding as a wide-spread art website, or perhaps even a wrestling forum to run alongside the giants of the internet such as WrestleZone?
Feel free to contact me in this thread, personally via private message, or on Facebook as Ben Mark Brown. I also have a design page listed as Ben Brown Design that I work and trade under where you can also contact me and I will reply to everybody immediately, you have my word.
I hope everybody who didn't see my Christmas thread had a wonderful festive season, an even better new year celebration wherever in the world you all are, and that, into the back end of July and moving into August, everybody has had a very fruitful, positive, healthy and happy 2018 so far.
Thank you so much for anybody who takes the time to read this, and I hope to hear from you soon.
