I'm very stocked for this one and can't wait to start watching the matches even though it's my first G1 climax PPV ever.

I'm surprised they gave Okada the belt so soon, I had him penned to win G1. It's predictable, but I think they'll go with Tanahashi to set up their third WK main event. I don't really see a dark horse. Think Elgin will go far; he's waited a fair while to get his break in Japan and will take it with both hands.

I wish I knew the slightest about NJPW.
But a lot of great wrestling should occur.

He's had amazingly good matches all year. Elgin is definitely the wildcard in this years tournament. I hope he gives a good account of himself. Would have loved Roderick Strong to have been part of it this year - his matches with the New Japan lot in Phili/Toronto were superb.

Nakamura vs. Tanahashi or AJ Styles in the final i reckon with Nakamura winning. The guy is so awesome and after dropping IC title, winning G1 is perfect.
Overall the tournament should be very enjoyable and the bullet club matches will be interesting as whether they compete probably or we get modern nWo and styles gets given wins. I wouldn't be surprised if Gallows gets a few wins and ends up having a competitive match with AJ

While the first few tournament matches were pretty forgettable, the Shibata/Styles and Tanahashi/Ibushi ones were tremendous. Which was to be expected to be fair but still.
I'd go out of your way to see those if you can.

Yeah it is. Richochet basically said he was the next guy in line regardless of who won the title about three weeks ago. I was actually hoping for a triple threat considering how rare they have them but oh well. Should be a cracking match. First night as a little boring tbh until the co-main event matches but that's the norm when it comes to these shows. Not nearly as bad as the first few nights of the New Japan Cup. Got pretty much what I expected from the matches, fucking amazing stuff especially from Shibata with his injury. They work well together and hopefully we get plenty more in the future. Favourite match of the two. It's nice to see Tanahashi fit again though; really showed his class when it's expected.
